Been awhile

  • Mood: Content
  • Music: Cara Mia -Måns Zelmerlöw
  • Highlight Of The Day: Went shopping for things, wonder how I'll pack my suitcase...
  • Smilie Of The Day
Well now I have found some time to type, or rather I've found some times where I feel like typing.

So I got back in Finland after Eurotour on June 21. where I thought I wouldn't have to travel on a bus for a long time. I was right but I had to take a 4-5 hour train to get to Savonlinna from Turku. Well now I seem to be starting at the end, well let's go from the beginning.

(Short version)
Rotary Finland Youth Exchange Program Eurotour 2007

So I arrived in Turku and met up with all 104 exchange students who were on the tour. I choose my roommate and bus, and I ended up on bus 2. Interestung times on that bus. One of which happened in the Czech Republic and we thought we were stuck in the country. But then again it wouldn't be a trip without something liek that happening.

By far my favorite city that we visited was Copenhagn, Denmark. I absolutly loved it to death and then the next one was Brussels, Belgium.

Well we went from Turku, Finland, through Sweden, to Denmark. After Demark we drove to Breman, Germany and then on the Netherlands, Belium, France, Monaco, Italy, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Germany again and thenback to Denmark, Sweden and home to Finland.

To say the least this trip was an adventure, quite a few things happened, one of which included on the free day in Itlay we spent it at the beach and litteraly the only people who got severly sunburned that day were the Canadians. though it was everyone but about 3, and me being a redhead I would have expected to be burnt but I was one of the 3 who didn't get burned. I guess I was extermly paranoid because I have been severly burnt before I I know that it is no fun at all. Then I thought it goes to show that Canadians aren't used to the sun..........I smell a stereotype here....

Let's see what else, Paris was nice, we hada few days there, I really enjoyed Southern France, but we didn't go to all the places that I wanted to visit because we were heading in the opposite direction. Monaco was really nice for a small country

I really enjoyed being in the alps but it was scary navigating those little, twisting and turning roads up the alps in a huge bus. It almost felt like being on the Cabot Trail.

Food wise...well we ate well enough, we were provided with 2 meals a day one of which HAD to include breakfast. The food in France was alright but nothing special, especially when we only had BREAD for breakfast in Grenoble....we were so confused....

The food got better in Italy where we actually felt like we had eaten a decent meals. Oh and we stayed at very nice hotels too. In Germany, we ate at a hotel and we figured that they slaughtered a farm to feed us.
By far the best food we had the entire trip was in the Alps at a hotel called HOTEL CANADA. To say the least we were full by the 2 course but it was soo goood. Plus the hotel was nice, really nice I enjoyed it alot and not because of the name. Most the Canadians, including me, had to get a picture with the sign.

Well i think I will leave it there seeing that I was going to write something else but it slipped my mind and I can't for the life of me remember it.

Well I home to Canada July 9th. I'm sad to leave Finland i love it here and I will really miss everyone and well I look forward to returning to Canada because well there is no place like home I guess, but Finland has become as much as my home too during my great exchnage year in Savonlinna, Suomi.

Wow it's been awhile since I last posted. Well here's what has gone on:

School finished up at the end of may and then on the 3rd I left on Rotary Youth Exchange Finland Eurotour 2007. Eurotour was an awesome time, it probably was one of the best experiences of my life.

Well I will leave it here for now and I course but let me say:

It wouldn't be a trip withough getting lost at least 3 times, getting stuck in little roads, faced with the possibility of not being able to leave a country (passport wise), and of course traffic police.

Maybe more later.

Joo,

So I've completly lost any meaning o the days of the week. Now it is just that I have 6 days to get ready for a 17 day trip around Europe with 100+ exchange students.

So, the past week or so my parents came to visit with friends of ours. It was really nice to see them and we traveled all over Scandinavia and saw some really beautiful countries and expensive ones as well. I had a good time with them and now I back home in Savonlinna and I can barely believe that I have a little over a month to go here in Finland. I am going to miss it, I don't want to leave but i'm looking foreward to going home, as every exchange student probably says.

So Eurotour is going to be an experience for sure, I'm looking foreward to it,lus i get to see lots of people I haven't seen in a long time and people i haven't met either. Well I had this long post planned out but my mind as gone blank.

So I think I may go and get some sleep, a little early I know and harder because the sun doesn't set until 22.30-23.00ish.

Well I'll leave a Smiley:
